Pretty nice Reg. That looks like a heavy piece of iron.

Nice job.

tahnks Mike. I am very proud of it. I'm glad I remembered how it went back together.....didn't even have any spare parts left....:D

You're certainly not going to tip that thing over without a lot of effort! Nice job, Reg!

without a lot of effort Jim...it takes two just to sit the table on it. I think I will be very pleased with it. It was fun doing the painting ....it was the worrying about keeping all the parts together and remembering where they all went that was nerve racking. I hope to start on a State Spindel sander next...that should be a lot of fun. I am thinking the South Bend lathe will be a winter project and it will be very intresting to do> If you like guys I will keep you posted on them...In the mean time I have a set of cabinets to buld for the old house I will be restoreing too

lovely saw. The original Oliver fence is the one that the Incra fence draws from or so it appears.

You have to run it a while and let us know how you like the tilting table.

Hi Cliff,
MMMMMMM the table on the 232-D doesn't tilt. It tilts the blade on the large truninons. Some of the larger Olivers and other saws tilt the table also

I don't know that anyone else mentioned it or not, I might have missed it, but the Oliver emblem/nameplate looks absolutely incredible.

Fantastic job on that piece. It looks as good if not better than it probably did the day it was stamped.

Greg I wish I were that good. It is actually a new one I bought with the original numbers stamed on it. Those are hard do fix but I am working on it and it's pretty tough trying to do it under a magniphying glass :o

it was the worrying about keeping all the parts together and remembering where they all went that was nerve racking.

Reg, if you do something like that again, take pictures of the machine as you disassemble - this will give you a reference for the rebuild.
