I just finished up a standing bookcase for my son's room. Nothing special, just sturdy and stained to match his existing furniture.
Sides, back, inner shelves and top are veneered ply....
All edge jointing is Red Oak.
Top has a little cove molding just for the heck of it......
Stained with Cherry color....finished with cheap-o spray lacquer. Wet sanded 600 and 800 to knock down the gloss. Waxed with 3M finesse-it.
It's covered with a little dusting cutting MDF for next project.
