Stop Me!, pics
Hello,
Well I had some fun on the lathe tonight, turned a new project that I had never turned before, bottle stoppers, yes.
Anyway, as unexciting as that may sound, I felt good that I was able to get this far. I bought some Lee Valley stoppers today, they have a threaded insert, ¼ - 20 thread.

I made my own screw chuck with a piece of maple I chucked into my Strong hold, drilled a hole to size the ¼ thread, them screwed in a 1 ½ “ long ¼ -20 screw, then cut off the head, voila!

I then cut some blanks of maple, chechen and goncalves (something or other) and then I turned these.

It was fun.
I owe a huge thank you to my good friend Jennifer Shirley, she did coach me through some of this process and I owe her a huge thanks!

Even THIS flat furniture guy can have fun on the lathe…….man does the time ever fly once you get going…
Thanks for viewing,
Take care,
Jim
