Hi all,

I was in Western Tools in San Bernardino yesterday (first time there) and ran across the Pioneer brand of tools. I've never seen this brand before, and find very little by googling the name. Pretty good looking saw, made in Taiwan, per the owner, as the house-brand for Western Tools. Very substantial under the hood. It was sitting right next to the General table saw, and I see a whole lot of similarities. While the Pioneer might be a knockoff, it's certainly not a cheap knockoff: $649 for the 10", 2hp, with cast iron table and wings, and a biesemeyer-look-alike fence.

Since Western Tools has so many locations nationwide, I was wondering if anyone has used the Pioneer brand, and what sort of reports might be had on their quality, etc. With prices that are identical to more common name-brands, it's not going to be among my choices for tools at this point.....rather, I was just curious as to member's experiences with Pioneer.
