Finally got some time in the shop yesterday and finished up this platter.

The more I turned this platter, the more the quilting came out in it. It finished out at 13-1/2" x 1-1/2" and was sanded to 1500 grit and then buffed with all three wheels.

Thanks for looking.

I really don't know what to say, Dick!

Haven't seen anything in it's class, figurewise, or execution!

Nicely done, Dick. What are you using to do your engraving on the feet, if you don't mind my asking?:)

I'm interested because I just used a Dremel and a really, really small bit, maybe like 1/32 with a round head and proceeded to bugger up my finished platter trying to be neat and engrave my name in the bottom:o .

Thanks

Dick, I don't know how to tell you this, but your platter's wrinkled. Front and back. Looks like it wasn't ironed after washing. I can see it plain as day in the pics...I'm surprised you didn't notice it yourself.

Since I'd hate for you to be embarrased displaying this in your house, you should just send it to me and I'll hide it from anyone who knows you. :D

Stunning seems appropriate for a platter like this! "ATTA-BOY".

Thanks

George I got a Dremel engraver, the vibrating kind. It works great. I think it was about $19 at Home Depot.

Good Luck

Thank you everyone for the nice comments, this was fun to turn.
