New to the forum and am looking for some advice.
I'm looking at purchasing a molding/plening machine in the near future. THe one I've been looking at is one of these

Anyone have any thoughts on these or this company?
Also, any others I should be looking at ?

I've heard nothing but kind remarks in reference to these machines. I don't have one nor have I ever seen one in use so take my advice for what its worth. Most of the owners of these machines, from what I've been told, only sell theirs to move up to a bigger or nicer version. It does appear that the 718 Plus Pro Pack is the most popular model.

Welcome, Mike. Woodmaster has a pretty good reputation. I have no personal experience with them, but folks I know who have their machines are quite happy.

Appreciate the warm welcome. Yes Bruce I'm in New Mexico. Raised here in the Southern most tip of the Rocky Mountains, job took me all over the state and then I came back to the mountains. Going to have to carry me off in a pine box to get me off again;)

No advice on the Woodmaster tools, other than I've seen other people say good things about their stuff.

I lived in Los Alamos for several years before moving to Albuquerque, I still miss the mountains of northern NM.
I can see the Sandia's out my back window but it isn't the same as living in them. :(

From the prices, they are sure proud of their machines. But the sale at half price makes one wonder if they were worth the full price in the first place.

First Welcome.
I have a Woodmaster 718, also a WM 25" drum sander, bought them in 92, still going good. Never had a problem. Had some instances to call for info etc., they always took the time to talk and I found every body I talked to to be very knowledgeable. You won't go wrong with it in you shop.

If you where to buy this stock at your local yard in mahogany,

prices start a $25 a foot. Took me all of about two seconds to do the math.

I don't know what the price on the woodmaster is but I've got the Jet 13 P/M and for $900 it works just fine for the hobbyist that only occasionally needs a molder

I own the ShopFox Molder/Planner and am very pleased with the performance, quality and price. It's a money maker and a real sweet machine.

some years back i owned a woodmaster drum sander and it was a well made unit backed by a knowledgable staff. never had occasion to use their moulder but the support staff would be the same, nice-n- helpfull.
that said i run mouldings on a williams-n-hussey..tod
