Finally got the roof racks and saddles done so I can hall the kayak on the roof of my PU-truck. Was a little scary halling it in the box since I have a 8' box and a 14' kayak. If any one is interested I will take more pics and post details on building the saddles.http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=45704&stc=1&d=1156693010

Nice job, David, but I can't tell from the side view if you built it wide enough to accomodate "Two" Kyaks or not. I know for sure that it had better carry two, (for when you get that one built for the LOYL), ;) or YOU KNOW who's KYAK will have to stay HOME if it only holds ONE. :D

Looking good David. Don't suppose you made a carrier for the PT though? :D

Norman,
the racks are plenty wide but will have to build another set of saddles to accomidate another kayak. Saved the forms so this will be no big problem.

Karl,
No racks for the PT yet. maby down the road.

Looks like a nice job. I'd like to build saddles for my catamaran and would be interested in how you made yours.

They look great. Sturdy, and strong. I would love to see more pics and and a tutorial on how you built them. I want to be doing the same thing when I finish my yak.
