Hi;
I've always wanted to learn woodworking. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any classes in the Antelope Valley area of CA (Lancaster, Palmdale). Does anyone know of anything reasonably close by or an intermediate or above woodworker willing to help out a newbie wanting to learn the basics, squaring stock etc...?
Thank you,
Jo

Jo........1st........Welcome to the Creek! Neat place to learn and exchange information.

Check out this thread for the mentors in your area. I'm sure some of our members will jump in and volunteer to assist you!

Again........Welcome to the Creek!

I just noticed Dan Oliphant is listed as a mentor and I think he's in your neighborhood!

Ken;
Thank you for the welcome and Dan's information. I've PM'ed him. Hopefully he can get me started making some serious sawdust.

"willing to help out a newbie wanting to learn the basics, squaring stock etc...?"

Can take you from a bolt/band sawn hunk to a finished piece of furniture.
135~miles from you.

See skills and repertoire.

Thanks Ken, Dan, Pat and Brian. I think Dan and I maybe able to work something out and someday when I know enough to benefit from it I can make it down to Escondido to take a router class from Pat. ;)
