I have davids marking knife and am very happy with it. His chisels are sold by the set of four on his web page. He will sell them individually and plans to change web site, for now call or e-mail David for individual purchases.

I have a number of tools from BlueSpruce, including a set of the chisels. They've all become indispensable! I also asked for several custom tools (including two pairs of drawbore pins, and some very short ball-handled butt chisels for small spaces). Dave did a great job on these, for prices that would have been good for mass-produced tools. Can't say enough good things about BlueSpruce.

I received my set a couple of weeks ago and haven't had time to do more than a few small test cuts but I was impressed with them enough that I ordered a set of left and right 3/8" skews to go with them. They feel good in the hand and are ready to use without touch up when they arrive. GS

Would love to hear comments after folks use these chisels, on some projects. They look wonderful. I wish I could have met Dave Jeske when I was in Portland recentely, but couldn't get to his place. I did get a consolation prize of MikeW and SteveK though!;)

Portland has a lot of tool makers, they are kinda on the corner of the U.S., so maybe you can say they're cornering the market on them...:rolleyes:

I had the opportunity to handle and inspect the chisels last weekend at Best in the West, but I didnt get the chance to speak with Dave personally, since I had very limited time and he was engaged with others. Tool shows can be rather insufferable in their own way, but, nonetheless, I go to every one I can. I can say that, upon my inspection, that his workmanship is superlative, and, in my judgment, his prices consistent with the apparent quality. They appear to be every bit the equivalent to the LN's....at least in terms of appearance, fit and finish. The steel in his chisels is also A2, like the LN's.

I don't normally succumb to the siren of the latest-greatest-jazziest-most-talked-about-on-the-internet-high-priced-offerings, but instead prefer the more vintage, reasonably priced stuff and only-if-I-can-get-it-evencheaper. Definitely an inherited trait that has served me well. But just this once, I made an exception. I contacted Dave and masterfully restrained myself to ordering a single 1/4" chisel in African Blackwood.
