It seems to give good coverage and doesn't come off easily.
I had in my hand a squirt bottle of Turtle Wax Tire Black & Protectant. I haven't a clue what's in this product except that the label says it's got pertoleum distilates.
It is from turtle wax so the chance of silicones is almost 100%
Anyway I gave an older tool (a sheetrock hole saw) a shot and a rub and the stuff covered the metal quite well. Then I dunked the saw it in a tub of water. The water beaded up and rolled off. Then I shot it with a garden hose good and hard. The water beaded up and rolled off.
Interesting I thought. Next time I have some urethane to do I am going to contaminate a chunk of wood with the stuff and see if the urethane will take.
