Just saw this on Craigs list:

If this is for real and if someone wants to buy it let me know and I'll go buy it for you then you can come get it or something. :D

I don't even know what it is that is being sold but it looks big for a dollar......Must be a good deal. :D

Maybe he has his title mixed up instead of saying,
"CNC Vertical Mill - $1" it should or read "CNC Vertical - $1 Mill."

more than likely it is on good and needs major repair new doesn't mean much, I have seen some of these deals, my guess is a company want some one to get ride of it, it would cost a fair amont to have it removed, the buy picks up that cost.

Found a manufacturer's website for that beast, no prices given but based on some others I saw $100K wouldn't be out of line.

Take a helper when you go to pick it up: it weighs 12000 pounds.

I could believe them "giving" it away if it was a couple years older and they had already depreciated it, but not for something only a year or two old.

Edit: Ok, $100K might be high: spotted a 2003 model on eBay with a $50K "buy it now" price. Still not exactly pocket change.

I have a customer who has a Fadel CNC Mill for sale or whatever. It is 10 years old worth about 15,000.00 but the spindle is shot. To replace the spindle 17,500.00.

You may also need riggers to move without damanging the machine. Some of these machines do not like to be picked up the wrong way it can put things out of alignment.

good luck

$10,000.00 to 15,000.00 to move this into storage and another 10,000.00 to move again, plus storage fees.... This might be a landlord moving a tenant's junk out - and hoping to avoid spending the dough. I hope the buyer checks for a clear title.

That could be it. I once had a friend that had an old totaled car and tried to sell it for $1 because the wrecker wanted $50 to tow it away. The parts were worthless, I think it was a K car. He ended up making a deal with a tow company and the wrecker accepted it for crushing at no charge.

I used to work in a machine repair shop. Had one of these come in for spindle and CNC work. The final pricetag on the repair was in the $75,000 range because of rigging, repairs and parts used. A monster job to undertake. Be very careful about this one.
