Hi there.

I recently bought a 1 3/4" socket chisel of this branding (for $3.50 less handle, and with a little mushrooming). It's marked as Buffalo, NY 1887.

It seems a nice piece of kit with a laminated blade and nice and thin for paring like a Berg chisel.

Does anyone here have any experience with them? Are they a good one, comparable with Greenlee, Witherby etc. or not?

Cheers,
Adriaan

I have found and rehabbed several chisels by this manufacturer. They have been mostly larger sizes and with laminated blades. They have all been very good tools and have held their edge well even under the heavier uses their size suggests.
I think that the 1887 date may have been the inception date of a predecessor company, not sure on that; but who cares they are good tools generally found at very affordable prices.
