I have a 14" BS, but I have some blocks that are too large to be cut round with it. Without getting a riser block, What are some good ways to do this?
Thanks.

B., about the only other tool which may get you in the ballpark (not completely round but, close) would be a chainsaw. Even one of those electric units do a pretty good job. However, even though they're pretty inexpensive, that same cost might cover a riser and a blade or two for your BS. :)

The old chainsaw that John mentions will work just fine...you really don't need your chunk of wood to be perfectly round, anyway. That's what the lathe is for!

I may as well get the riser and new blades, cost less than a chainsaw and I'd get more use out of it.
Thanks to all.
