I haven't posted in a long while. What with getting two kids married last year, a two week evacuation due to Hurricane Rita and subsequent repairs to the house (I'm starting to see light at the end of that tunnel), retirement and health issues for both myself and my wife, I just never seemed to have the time.
Anyway...While working on the house repairs I needed to use my MF#4-02 bullnose plane. I flattened the important parts of the sole, polished the back, and sharpened the blade (it will shave) but still can't get it to take "whispy curlies". It either takes too deep of a bite or won't cut at all. I don't think the problem is simply difficulty adjusting the blade. Is there something else I need to "tune" to get this plane to perform right or some trick to adjusting the blade that I need to know about. Thanks for any information.
