I was interested in finding good roller stands for outfeed support at the job site. I saw (a couple of years ago) a Grizzly model that had an integral scissor jack to fine-adjust the height. I can't find that model in their current catalog.

Does anyone know of a good, heavy-duty, capable-of-handling-wet-16ft-oak-boards type of outfeed support? (Preferably with ball rollers instead of tube rollers, and ideally with the scissor jack adjustment).

Thanks!
Jeff

A few months ago Rockler had their roller ball stands on sale for $25 apiece. I got a couple. I think they are normally over $40, There is also a more expensive version that has three bars of the rollers instead of just one. The stands are heavy- duty and very adjustable for height. Saturday I used them as outfeed supports to cut a sheet of plywood up on my tablesaw. If you have a Rockler store nearby, go take a look. The Ridgid Flip-Stand at Home Depot for $30 is also a good value, but not as heavy as the Rockler stand. It has a flat, tilting top instead of rollers.

Jeff,

You sound as though you are looking for a really good outfeed and support stand. Check this one out. I am right on the verge of buying one myself, along with their Superjaws.

Good luck.:)

Thanks guys... those pointers gave me some great info. I really want a heavy stand -- so the Rockler ($$ ouch) is especially appealing, although the versatility of the Triton is a real bonus (plus, I have some Amazon gift certificates to burn! :))

Either of these sure beats what I had found.

Thanks again,
Jeff

You might want to look at the "Ultimate Roller Stand" from Lee Valley

I bought one of those to try out and love it. The rollers let the wood go where it should and it helps since you don't have to set the stand EXACTLY square with the table like the roller type should be set up. That Triton one looks interesting, wouldn't mind seeing if anyone has one of those to see how they like it.

Personally, I would shy away from something that does not have rollers. This one has slides.
