Drawer bottoms w/ undermount slides

I am making some drawers for my new kitchen cabinets. I encountered a problem yesterday I hadn't thought of.

I am making the sides out of 1/2" maple, using 1/4" maple ply for the bottoms, and blum tandem undermound slides. When I attached the slides, the screws protruded through the bottom.

I might just have to switch to 1/2" ply for the bottoms, but is there anything else I can do? Special shorty screws? Glue?

Use #6 1/4" screws?

Never used undermount slides.

Do you mean to say the slides attach to the bottom of the drawer? That seems odd. The Accuride ones attach to the drawer sides that protrude below the bottom itself.

If you look at detail E or D you'll see the locking device, and that's what I'm talking about.

The only thing that attaches to the bottom of the drawer for BLUM tandem is the locking device. The screw is supposed to be driven at an angle (25 degrees realtive to the bottom, IIRC). It should not come out the front or thru the bottom.

I guess that's my problem then. I didn't see the angle mount holes, I'll have to look more closely. Thanks for the tip. I figured it was something I was doing wrong.

Finally took the drawer off, and sure enough, there were 2 angled holes for the screws. Put 'em in, and now my only problem is 4 small holes in the bottom near the front. By the time the drawer is filled with tongs and spatulas, you'll never know.

Now, to do 6 more of 'em.
