Canister Filter

Has anyone converted a Delta 50-850 DC to one with a canister filter? If not, does anyone know of a source for canister filter conversions?

I made a web page about my DC canister conversion. It lists the model and seller of the canister. I added it to my Grizzly G1029 DC, and am glad I did.

I converted my PSI 1-1/2hp unit to a canister filter from Wynn.

I'd have a scrap piece of MDF and some screws and silicone caulk on hand.


The Wynn cartridge has a hole in the top that either needs to be plugged with a nut, bolt and washers or a home-made flapper installed.


I much prefer a canister over bags.

Dave, thanks for the link. It was a big help. I have spent two days researching and couldn;t find a single thing on the conversion. I forgot all about Bill Pentz. Looks like aobut $140 will convert mine.

FWIW, I just wanted to note that if you do a lot of sanding dust collection, especially for hard tropical woods, bags will be better in the long run. The sticky fines from these woods clog up a canister to the point where you can't clean it with back pressure. I blew up several Oneida filters before I went to a baghouse with shaker... I've heard others mention similar clogging issues. Otherwise, I agree that the air quality and flow on a canister is great.
