I'm going to be finishing my basement this winter and wanted to plan things out with SWMBO. Anyone have any recommendations on software to help plans things out from a layout standpoint?

Thanks

sorry. I should have provided some more details. the room will actually be just more living space. kind of a playroom for the little one as well as a recreational area for the adults. TV area, pool table, wet bar, and partial bath.

I don’t have a recommendation for software, but whatever layout you come up with, consider laying out the final design with masking tape on the floor. We found that a very effective way to tweek the design in full scale.

Sean,
If you don't have it, download the free version of sketchup from google. It's easy to use and you will be able to do 3-d modeling, great program for what you want to do and you can't beat the price.

If you need a link you can get it from the design forum.
