I was fortunate to be accepted into Clay Foster's Masters Class at Arrowmont. Here are a few images of my production during that class and since.

22 3/4 x 7, poplar, multi axis, multi-component box. Brass rods, copper wire, red undercoat of milk paint coated and rubbed through black gesso. Each "child" is carved in differeing patters. Will post close ups of individual components later.

Clay's leadership and mentoring have had a profound affect on me. He has unleashed a monster ... though he claims the monster was already there. I still turn bowls, but I have discovered other avenues to pursue with VIGOR!

Poplar, gesso, blue halo, red, neck ribbob (paint). 22 x 3 3/4. Clay's Master class theme was Figurative Art and Turning. I planned this based on the Art Deco period and drawings by Erte. Critiques/comments welcomed

Left is "Blue Man", found wood, (poplar I think) 9.75 x 3. Gesso and blue acrylic paint. MultiAxis Mayhem!

Right is "If Marcel DuChampes Had Been A Woodturner: Pink Nude Descending A staircase" (with apologies to all cubist, Marcel DuChampes and all art lovers everywhere). I could not resist. More Mult-Axis Craziness.

Center piece inspired by Inuit rock stacking called "Inunkquag". 7 x 4.5, various pieces of wood, acrylic paints, pumice. See what Clay Foster has done to me! critiques/comments always welcomed.

Inspired by African Grave Posts. Why wait for death? Tell your own life story now. Images of things important/meaningful to me. Turned, burned, painted, colored, poplar, 20.5 x 3.75. criticisms/comments appreciated.

second of 4 sides of previous item. Images include masks, turtles, free form patterns from dreams, rhinos (lovely critters), kangaroos, Buddhas, cats, lizards, rivers, whales and other bizarre things. I have done other Scribble Sticks ... they serve as practice pieces for burning, carving, coloring, etc. Most wind up in the fireplace. Critiques/comments please

Thanks for looking!
