Very nice, Horst. How did you create the texture?

That is a Beautiful ART object, Horst. This is one of the few times I've seen texturing enhanse the visual appeal of the piece instead of detracting from it.

Horst, very nice. The texturing seems to work in an interesting way with the grain of that piece. Excellent!

Hello,
Thanks a lot for the kind comments.
The texturing was done with the Sorby Texturing & Spiralling Tool using the texturing wheel.

Very nice! I like what the texturing adds to it.

Very nice work, Horst. The simple form lends itself quite nicely to the texturing. The proportions of embellished to plain areas are, to my eye, just about perfect.

Um...I think you missed a spot while sanding. :D

Great work!! I bet it's nice to touch.

I love that bowl !! The texturing really adds a lot to that piece.
Horst, do you finish the piece on the lathe then add texturing and
nothing gets put on the textured area? Or does it get a seal of some
sort too?
I don't own a texturing tool and haven't seen the process in action,,
but that bowl makes me want to try it someday.

Hello Jeff,
I got the texturing tool only recently and this bowl is the first piece I’ve done with it. It’s also the first time I turned this particular wood. Because I liked the bowl as it is, it didn’t get any finish ( yet ). Before I put anything on , I want to do another piece in the same wood and see what it will look like with my usual oil finish on. And I think, a textured surface offers a lot of possibilities for experiment, even with colours.
