Was headed to the shop when I found this laying in the backyard. Oak About 35' long x approx. 11" dia. As you can see, the trunk had rotted at its base and just fell over. Here is a test piece off the small end. Turn or Burn?

Looks pretty good Chris. Nice save on the tree. I definately would turn. That wood is to pretty to burn.

Turn it, Chris! That wood has some nice character to it.

Turn. It just looks too good to pass up, to me.

My answer is always TURN it (I might burn it afterwards)
Very nice bowls and I love the craks. If you wanted to do them un purpose I think it would have been quite dificult.

Loot, pillage, burn!! In that order -- it is very important to get the order correct. Similar rule applies to woodturning -- you can always burn later, but not vice versa.:D

So it would be loot, turn and burn:D

From the looks of the bowl you did nicely with it. Add it to the stack!
