I have the 150/3 and CT22. Do I "need" the new RO150? I am trying to decide what I would use it for.

Thanks
Dave

The 150/3 is the palm sander (isn't it). The ROtex 150 is a larger sander with dual modes, normal and aggressive. In the aggressive mode it really hogs out wood, though it captures all the dust. The new RO150 has a few small improvements like a protective hood that keeps you from running the pad into a corner.

I have the older RO150 and I like it a lot, but its heavy and eager to plow, so I have the 150/3 on my wish list for a smaller, lighter sander.

If you are looking for a way to spend some $$, do you have the TS55 plunge saw yet? It is my favorite power tool. Wouldn't ever cut sheet goods with anything else.

Have fun in the candy store!!

OK. I've got a Mercedes. And I've got a BMW. Do I need a Ferrari?

Why not?:p

Just couldn't resist!

I have the older 150 Rotex and it is a great sander for shaping....blending...end grain saw marks. I also use it for buffing out finishes and wax..I use borh that and the 150/3

Hi Dave,
I have both the older RO 150 & the 150/3. Each have their place.... the 150/3 is a wonderful surface finish sander except for corners... then that's where the DS or RS palm sanders are great. The RO 150 will take you from the equivalent of a belt sander to as Mark pointed out... a polisher and it is a great medium random orbital to boot.

Hope this helps, jim
