Seeking a supplier of 8/4", 10/4" or 12/4" american sycamore, New England area is preferable or on the East Coast. Please advise me if you know where I can locate some Sycamore. Many Thanks William

There is a fellow in Pennsylvania, Talarico Hardwoods. Phone 610-775-0400 www. talaricohardwoods.com

I have been there a few time, it is incredable the wood that he has. When I first went there I had no idea Sycamore was such a beautiful wood. Now, I would like to include it in everything. Pricey, very pricey. Especially if you want quarter sawn. But very beautiful stuff. He will ship anywhere. He specializes in old growth lumber, he has slabs that will make you want to mortgage your home.

It's not New England but it is at least a lead.

Good luck
Ben

I'd suggest going to see Wayne at Dunlap Woodcrafts in Chantilly, VA. He specializes in figured woods for gunstocks, but also has an incredible selection of woods. Tel:703-631-5147 He doesn't list QS Am. Sycamore on the website, www.dunlapwoodcrafts.com (http://www.dunlapwoodcrafts.com), but I've bought some beautiful stuff from him. Most recently I picked up a 8ft x 14in Spalted QSAS 10/4 slab for less than $100, that's about $4.00/BF. I'm working with it now and it is amazing!

Good luck
Aaron
