Hi Everyone.

This will be my first post and I just wanted to say hi and tell ya little bit about myself.

I started woodworking about 10 years ago with some second hand tools I bought from a friend who was upgrading. I started out in the garage working around a car and truck. I found out early the importance of mobility of tools. After about 4 years of hearing me complain about moving cars and tools around, my better half said to go ahead and build a shop. So I'm now working from a 24' x 24' shop with a 10' ceiling.

I recently was forced into early retirement because of medical reasons. So once I get those problems fixed, I will have lots of time to spend in the shop.

I am including a picture of the only thing I have build for myself. I bought the stand the TV is on and thought I needed something to go around it. Behind the doors are all my woodworking magazines. With room for more to add to my collection.

Well, I hope the picture comes through and I will be hanging around more then I used to at the other sites.

Talk to ya later.
:D

Welcome to the second koolest site on the web (next week it'll be the koolest, sniff sniff).

The book cases look great. Now you'll have to get a lathe to make some "decorative" bowls to fill the empty spaces.

I had a Delta 36" lathe and sold it after it sat there for about 5 years and not using it. I was just making to many other things in the shop to get started with it after I bought it. I just could't get started. It was one of things I had to have to make a complete shop.

Sold it and my 16" 3 wheel Delta bandsaw and got an 18", 2hp Z model Grizzly bandsaw instead. It's a work horse.

Most all of us here are new .... good luck with your health problems. By the way ... I moved from just down the road from you to Thomasville not long ago ... sure miss my mountains. Took up woodworking when I had to give up my photography with the loss of the mountains. Somehow a phot0 of an alligator just doesn't do the same for me as a mountain scene.

Thanks to all for the nice comments.

Got good news yesterday and it looks like I'll be back working in the shop pretty soon. After taking a stress test, the cardiologist said that the first tests that were taken gave back some wrong info and that the old ticker is still strong, no problems. So I actually spent about an hour in the shop yesterday afternoon getting familiar with what I had out there. It's going to take awhile to get back at it.

Thanks again for the nice comments.

A good dose of sawdust is all you need now.
