This is a Stinson/Stafford/Peacock/Cothren/Ketron/Hoyt (and maybe some others) collaboration. I have pictures of all of those people working on this piece. There may have been others so I apologize for leaving anyone out.

Travis brought his new mini-hollowing rig, it was new at the time, to the ParrBBQ and demoed turning hollow forms with it. This was the demo piece and he gave us all some turns hollowing and shaping the exterior then he fixed the mess we made of it and turned and installed the collar. After it was parted off he gave it to me to take home and finish. I finally got around to doing just that and wiped some more oil on it and caressed it all nice and smooth and buffed it out dry with my buffing wheels.

The HF ended up 4 1/2" in height and diameter. Considering all the help Travis had it came out pretty well.

I'm sure Travis needed all the help he could get with that bunch. :D Another beautiful piece, whoever did it.

I distinctly recall my hollering rig practice was only on the inside of this thing, Mike - as most clearly mandated by Travis.

That's why it looks so good on the outside.

Oh shoot, Keith did I leave you out? I did not remember you turning on this piece and I do not have pictures of you doing it. All I remember you doing was sitting on a ladder....:p ;) :D

I think I see the whole crew in the wood. Lots of faces, ghostes, and one big alien... the ah... outer space kind.:D Very nice piece guys.

I always heard that to many cooks will spoil the soup, but evidently that does not apply to making HF's cause this is a beauty.

Let me make one thing perfectly clear. This piece was done with all the turning when Travis handed it over to me and said I could finish it. That means apply finish. Travis did the majority of the turning and is responsible for the shape. The rest of us cooks just stirred the pot a little.....:D

Mike's contribution was to grin like a mule eatin' briars while he hollowed on the inside. All the while singing, "I don't do hollow forms..."

My own personal contribution was this:

(1) Step up to the lathe and begin
(2) "Oh my!"
(3) Step away from the lathe
(4) "Okay Travis, let's see you fix THAT!"
