I would like to share this display for my bottle stoppers I made for my upcomming shows this fall. It is 12 inches in diameter, unknown wood bottom finished with lacquer, the top is 3/8 in. thick acrylic mounted on a lazy suzan. I used crushed turquoise to inlay a void in the wood. It will hold 25 bottle stoppers. Let me know what you think with your critiques.
Thanks

Me to! Are they encapsulate in resin or is there just enclosed with a clear top?

Awesome stoppers AND display! I haven't tried any of those yet, but will soon I think!

The only thing about the display, is it seems crowded. Maybe 16 or even 20 per display so you can see the stoppers better.

Not only nice display but excellent stoppers. Lot of fly fishermen in my area, those would be popular.

I use an opaque color in the epoxy to pore a base for a backgroud. I use a lot of white for background as you can see. When this dries I put in what ever I would like to cast then pore the clear casting resin over this. I use the casting resin and opaque colors from this supply house, but others sell it.

I will answer any questions you have about this process because I learned it from someone else and modified it to meet my needs. I posted this to help others because you all have been helpful to me.

Glenn, I think it's a very cool idea, but I am trying to look at it with a consumer's eye. With there being this many in one setting, it would make me think that YOU don't think that much of the stoppers, and the fact is, your stoppers, as the rest of your work are special. I think a similar display with fewer holes and with room for each stopper to be individually viewed would be better. It's like when I buy a piece of jewelry for LOML. A booth in a mall will have the same gold in say a necklace as a jewelry store, but will hang 17 of them on a single display, where as the jewelry store will place them seperately. You can't help but have more confidence in what you are getting at the JS. JMTCents.

Once you pour the resin and it cures is the stopper done or do you sand and polish the resin top?

Thanks for the info.

Great display, Glenn! The only thing I see wrong with those pictures is the ugly ol' dawgs that are in there... now if you would replace the Dawgs with some Hawgs, you'd be in business...;) :D

Woooooooooooooooooo Pig!

Ernie, you might be correct. I am after huge display, and if I am wrong I can change it after the first show. Thanks for your input, this is the kind of info I need.

Yes, after you let the casting epoxy cure you must sand it smooth. I even buff it as I am buffing the bottle stopper. This makes it even more clearer.

Those stoppers are beauts, and show a lot of creativity. I would suggest augmenting the display with a couple of wine bottles, preferably empty, with stoppers in them.
