Looks like a typical 4-post far east planer. For the price, it is probably mainland China, not Taiwanese. I have the Shop Fox version. Works pretty well. Check tightness of anything with a set screw with some regulartity. I've had things like the motor mount swivel and chipbreaker come loose and drift around. I do find myself wishing for a 7 1/2 HP motor, faster feed speeds, and segmented infeed parts. But those machines are available too, for a price. I guess it depends what you are doing with it.
