Cherry Log

My SIL has a 24" X 5' Cherry log. It is from a fruit tree. Seems I've heard the wood from a fruit tree (cherry) is not very good for wood working.

He has a sawyer that wll cut it, but was wondering if it was worth th effort.

The wood may not have the same colour as you would expect from a black cherry. The other species tend to be paler and light brown coloured. Apart from that, it's probably perfectly good for woodworking.
