Well I have been missing, if anyone noticed, working at getting the shop wired and machines set. Its been long days and HOT!!! Now just waiting for the inspector to grace mw with his presence  .
Anyway I started getting the nuts bolts and pins together for the Oliver I have been trying to get painted. I did finally get a little paint on the base and thought you might like to see it

Reg,

What model jointer did you get and where did you get it? I would love to find a decent 16" or bigger Northfield.

Pics would be great!

Reg, your shop is starting to look GOOD! I don't know framing terms - is it timber framed with stick framing on the inside? It's going to be sharp.

hi Guys...Alan the mortiser is a Powermatic model 10
Maurice the building is a "metal pole building" I am building interior walls to keep the noise dwon and to have a little more insulation, altho it is insulated.
LOL tod...thats all I really had time for but I promis I will take more the next time I am there. For the time being I only get to visit it. I am still working trying to get tooling and things now but I reall hope to be makeing things befor too long
I will be takeing the Oliver over in pieces so I can manage them by myself. I should have the northe field HD soon
I bought it from Dev and he will be comming this way this month to pick up some maple and another saw in Maryland.
I'm getting pretty excited about it and can't wait for the power to be turned on.
Greg the northfield is a 12 inch heavy duty.
Alan I do have some pics of the Oliver comming apart and will be makeing more as it gos back together

I'll tell him guys, but in his defence his PC is broken and he said he is pretty busy trying to finish up a job it would be better to not fix it until he is finished....but I'll let him know he's stuck up (tod) and missed (Ken) :D

Reg,

Thanks for the information on the Northfield 12HD. I bet that jointer is a beauty. I would guess that Dev did a real nice job on the restoration.

I wonder if this jointer is the one that he bought the big Rubbermaid tank to clean the tables by electrolysis?.....

Post pictures of all your old iron when you can. I believe there are many 'closet' old iron fans here. The Oliver saw looks really great.

Please do let Dev know that the Creek is running a little low without him around.

Great looking space by the way. I am envious.

As much as I love my austrian equipment I can never put aside my deep abiding love of old thick heavy cast iron.

It just sort of says "God is in his heavan and all is right with the world."
Neither statement appears true once I turn away from all that old thick heavy cast iron.
