I have been on a run recently with building some of my own tools. This weekend, I tackled a center finder for spindles. My homemade version is cocobolo and brass. Each leg is about 4 ˝”. The brass was cut on the table saw. The cheek was cut by clamping it to the back of a spline jig. This was my first ‘turning-related’ tool I have made. Are there any other turning specific layout tools I could work on next?

If you’re interested, some of my other home-made tools are detailed here.
