A friend of mine is a professional woodturner and turns complex segmented forms. His segments are a little different than most I've seen. He does compound cuts and cuts segments on the bias and reglues them which makes very insteresting symetric rings.

So, we got the bright idea of using his cutoffs to make some pens. Here's the result. I think there is a little of everything in there.

That is cool Raymond! His work is very different that alot of the segmented work I have seen. The pen turned out great! Nice job.

Definately a unique treatment, pen and bowl. Your friend does great work. But he never read Tom Sawyer. :rolleyes:

Nice pen Ray I like the way the segments came out in it. Great vahse also.
