Jonathon those are some mighty fine turnings. You did a nice job on them. I really like the wands.

You might want to tell Barry those are small paddles for the little elves boat.

Jonathon. Nice work... all of it. I like the texturing on the first wand handle.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone... those two bowls in there are actually my first bowls that I have actually considered a success. They aren't perfect, but there almost no visible tearout and the inside and outside curve complement each other so I like 'em. The little "paddle" is intended for stir-frys, but it can second as an elven boat paddle in a pinch. The pictures aren't really good so I am surprised you caught onto the textured handle, Ernie.... good eye! I thought it would be a cool effect to dimple the handle... I did it with a dremel. Works nice!

Here are close-ups of the textured handle and of my other favorite handle right next to it for any of you that didn't catch the texture!!

Great looking work, Jonathan. That textured wand handle is very nice. Now for the ultimate question: What are the wand cores? :)

Jonathan, jonathan... Don't you know it's not the eyelashes, but the heartstring you need? :)

Sorry... I'm a bit of an HP fan...

Jonathan, jonathan... Don't you know it's not the eyelashes, but the heartstring you need? :)

Sorry... I have never read the books or watched the movies... no wonder I didn't know; coulda saved myself some trouble  but hey you might try the eyelashes sometime... might work.

I didn't measure the handles, but I think they range from an inch in thickness (+ or -) for the bigger ones and the smaller ones are around half an inch I imagine. The brown one on the end might even be smaller. I don't measure... I just turn :D
