Guilloche Art

I specialize in the guilloche design in the graphic arts market. Nevertheless I am interested in knowing if this type of complex artwork formed with fine lines, could be engraved with laser in acrylic, glass or wood; mainly to decorate luxury products.

Annexed are some sample simulating a finished work. The image are in low resolution due to the little space in the forum, but I have other samples. Somebody knows where could place the images to show them?

For large files you best method is to upload the file to your webspace
and provide a link in the post.

We can laser at a high resolution on glass and acrylic, basically any image that's in a computer file, including photos. The detail as on your example would work fine on acrylic. Glass tends to be a bit less effective because the laser result is sort of a microscopic chipping. Wood is probably the best material for laser engraving.

I Would like to know his opinion about if a product of this type have real commercial possibilities. I don´t have laser engraving equipment, I am only evaluating the possibilities of this market.

I have done several jobs for people that told me they were going to sell something, and after the initial order would be getting thousands. So far
only one has come back, and she's maiking a lot of money on her idea. As a laser engraver I do whatever the customer orders, but I have no idea as to what might sell. You have to find a market for things. Many people with lasers do gift/art/craft shows and maybe some of them could comment on it. It might be worth hiring a marketing consultant to do surveys/focus groups before you go out and buy materials and/or a laser. They may sell very well, but it may not be practical to spend a lot of money producing something without knowing ahead of time if it's marketable. Even try selling a few on E-Bay and see how they do.
