First time turning this stuff, ended up with bright orange forearms when I was done. :eek: Wilder grain than I expected...the flat stock I'd used before wasn't anything like this. 5-3/4"x1-3/4":

I really like that red wood nice form too. My wife made some compacs out of it last winter and they turned out great too were very popular as gifts.

I really like it, Lee. Great job. I made a little weed pot out of padauk a while back, and was really surprised by the amount of chatoyance the wood had. Looks like your bowl has some of the same type of thing going on.

Very pretty, Lee. I also very much enjoy the color of fresh Padauk. I've never worked it myself, and didn't realize it turned one's skin orange!
