Hi

I was looking at photos on an auction site. The photo is pretty crappy, but for anyone who works on-site or does demos, the carry-all is pretty clever. BTW, this is not an online auction - you'll need to get your butt to Nova Scotia to bid. So sorry :( !

That is a nifty carrying case for working planes. Obviously a craftsman's work.

Ian,

What auction site was the plane box on. Might be worth taking a look since I am in Nova Scotia.

Hi Scott

The auction was held last holiday Monday. I decided to stay home and save my money, so I can't tell you what the planes sold for.

The auctioneer is Pidgeon Auctions. Most of their auctions are held in the Truro area. Here's their website:

I've picked up a few tools from Pidgeon's. The other auction house where I've had some luck is called Wooden Rose. They hold their auctions both in Dartmouth and Windsor. Steve, the auctioneer, is fond of tools and often has a good selection - sometimes woodworking, sometimes mechanical.

I enjoy buying at auction. All of my (off topic in this forum) stationary power tools except my tablesaw were purchased at auctions and a heck of a lot of my handtools as well.

If you buy the Chronicle-Herald (that's the daily rag in Halifax, for you non-Nova Scotians) on Thursday you'll get the listings for the coming weekend.

If you've never been to an auction and want to give it a try, PM me and maybe we can set something up. I'll warn you though, the days can be long and patience is an asset.

Cheers
