This machine is new to me. Anyone out there have one? Seen one? Lust for one? Returned one?

Todd.

Todd,
I've been lusting for one for a long time. I just sent for the CD ROM from their website to take a closer look. The price is what has stopped me from just doing it in the past.

Todd,

John Lucas over at www.woodshopdemos.com has reviewed both the woodrat and little rat (I think that is the correct name for the smaller version). Go have a look there.

I've got the big rat. It's really one doll of a machine. I, a newbie, was cutting some very fine dovetails, straight field raised panels, etc within a week of getting it. I recommend it highly, as it can be used in place of a lot of jigging. And it's fun - after a while you realize that your imagination is the limit for how you can use it.

Now here's a tip for you. The latest manuals for both the big and little rats are available as downloads at http://www.woodrat.com/downloads_framset.html

They'll definitely give you an idea of what you can do with the rats.
