Thanks for the tip.

The ticks we get over here are called "paralysis ticks". They're real nasty little buggers. We get a few of them at our place because we back on to bushland and the ticks are carried by bandicoots and possums that venture into our yard from the bush every night.

I have been told that tea-tree oil (from the tree Melaleuca alternifolia) has the same effect as your soap glob. But then others have told me that the practice is dangerous because it makes the tick sick and it spews a lot of its toxic stuff into you before it backs itself out. I'm not sure who is right and who is wrong.
