This Pecan I received from Mark Cothren! Thanks Mark! Now send me some more!:D A friend from my turning club ( Ray Astillero ) and I did this together and it will be going to a church action next month. The collar is stained cherry. Finish is semi Gloss Deft lacquer. This picture does not do this wood justice!

Very nice! I like spalted pecan...most of the time, spalting makes it easier to work with too (not as hard).

Excellent Kurt!!! I hope this piece does well at your church auction. If I had another decent piece of the wood I'd send you some. All I have left has developed MAJOR checks...:(

Great looking HF Kurt. I especially like the face with the wink... and the bottom jaw broken off.;) ... but it's the other eye.

Kurt, you and Ray have done wonderfully on that piece. The organizers of the auction are going to have their eyes bug out and their jaws drop. :)
