Finally got cool enough to spend some time in the shop/garage! :D

From one of the chunks Ernie sent me...sort of a 'bean pot' shape, 5"x3":

Nice Lee....I love that shape! Definitely not an ice cream bowl, the inward slope would prevent Andy from eating IC from it. He would get his spoon hung up in there.... assuming he uses a spoon :)

Nice bean pot Lee! I really like the finish...what is it?"The Usual", v2.0: thin CA applied on the lathe, buffed and waxed. Pretty much the ultimate in instant gratification, finish-wise.

Sweet looking work, Lee. I like it. Now is that for black beans, or refried beans? :)

Alright Lee! Nice job, and that finish looks great. So how'd you like turning green wood? Was that your first?

So how'd you like turning green wood? Was that your first?Fourth, I think: there were those two blanks from Barry awhile back, and the aspen from Joe. So far they've been small enough to get away with turning-to-finish in one step...but I still have that "monster" blank from your package to deal with.

Beauty Lee! You sure thats not a giant ort?

For the CA finish, did you apply it to rag and then the bowl while spinning? How bad were the fumes???

And Corey -Andy's got a beard, no need for a spoon......

For the CA finish, did you apply it to rag and then the bowl while spinning? How bad were the fumes???Paper towel, actually...and a nitrile glove on that hand. :p Fumes aren't that bad: I keep a big fan blowing out the back door of the garage when I'm working.
