View Full Version : Spalted maple bowl/platter...thing -pix-

I couldn't decide if it wanted to be a bowl or platter. So I made both :) This is my first attempt at a form like this, and I'm ecstatic with how it came out. I'm giving it to some close friends as a housewarming gift. They told me not to buy them anything, so I didn't ;)

Spalted maple, about 12" in diameter. Finish is Minwax wipe-on poly.

Very nice done Joe! Luckily for me....my wife's in Illinois and my lathe won't handle something that big! Very nicely done!

I was thinking the same thing, I have the same problem as Ken my lathe won't handle something quite that large.

Joe, that's a beauty. Looks like a clear cut 'chips and salsa' setup to me.
