Just read a new thread about another Dell Laptop going up in flames:

Dell going up in flames (http://community.tomshardware.com/dellpost.html?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=192887&ex=Dude-Dell-freaking-blew)

Now how is this topical.. well many of the new hi-usage hi-voltage tools use the same Li-Ion Polymer battery technology. They are most vulnerable during charging (IE when you aren't around like in the shop late at night)... here is a You-Tube vid showing an R/C battery pack being overcharged (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3690260570423705609&q=lipo+battery+fire). While this is an extreme case, R/C folks have known for years what can happen if you overcharge/overdraw a Li-Ion Polymer battery pack. Maybe we need to think again about some of the new tools.

Worth keeping in mind anyhow...
