Was "commissioned " by my dad for a bowl to give to one of his neighbors as a thank you for helping him out around the house while my mom was sick. White oak from the scrap pile at a local lumber yard. Approx. 6 1/2" x 2". Finish is Mylands Sand-N-Sealer and then "several" coats of Tru-Oil.

I have found that oak, while real "chippy" between centers, fares much better in face grain mode, and has become one of my favorite woods.

Thanks for looking, comments welcome. A special thanks to Dennis Peacock for his inspiration and who always has cool looking feet................ :D

The bowl turned out very nice. I'm sure that your dad will be proud and the final owner will love it.

Very nice bowl! Excellent! I need to try some white oak.

NOW I have to ask.........what are you and Dennis doing together that you get to see his feet? Is he wearing shoes..........or is his Alabama upbringing shining though and he's running around barefooted again? His wife has tried to teach him different manners but they sometimes don't appear to having the desired effect!:D
