Was "commissioned " by my dad for a bowl to give to one of his neighbors as a thank you for helping him out around the house while my mom was sick. White oak from the scrap pile at a local lumber yard. Approx. 6 1/2" x 2". Finish is Mylands Sand-N-Sealer and then "several" coats of Tru-Oil.
I have found that oak, while real "chippy" between centers, fares much better in face grain mode, and has become one of my favorite woods.
Thanks for looking, comments welcome. A special thanks to Dennis Peacock for his inspiration and who always has cool looking feet................ :D
