Well I was amazingly happy with the way this bowl was turning out and I just wanted to even out the rim. little bit, little bit...then....it explodes in my face. Well not literally but none the less dramatic.

I really liked how it was turning out. got a lid made for it an everything. oh well back to the lathe with some more curly map and walnut.

Aww crap Keith, that sucks! Obviously that one was going to be a real nice one. Hope he next one hangs together and is twice as nice!

Wow! How fast were you spinning that thing? That was gonna be a NICE one for sure. Glue it back together and make a shop bowl out of it. Looks like it would glue right back together. Sorry about the luck.

Bummer !!!! Glad you were out of the line of fire.

No kidding ! first thing I did was make sure I didn't have a hunk of curly maple sticking out of my neck. I was spinning it at about 760rpm. Nice and slow. It happens I guess. The messed up part is this thing was done by design and it was looking JUST like I invisioned it. Oh well need some more walnut got plenty of curly map.
