I wanted to make a gift for my brother and sister in-law who will be hosting us for a week later this summer. I finally came up with the idea of a small clock.
The clock is mahogany and measures about 9" wide by 5" high by 1-3/4" deep. The wood is actually some cutoffs left over from the mahogany buffet I built them as a wedding gift about this time last year. The finish is orange shellac with severa several drops of brown mahogany Transtint dye to darken it a little. I then finished with a couple coats of wax applied with 0000 steel wool. The clock insert is from Rockler. Now I have to make one each for LOML and LOML jr.
