Good Morning Everyone,

It was HOT this weekend, but I managed to keep the A/C running in the shop and was able to make some good progress.

Still working on the computer desk. Yea, I know, it's taking me FOREVER, but with work, family, and church, I have to squeeze in time for commission work. I'll post some progress pics later, but right now it's back to the day job.

I have all the legs for the desk assembled, bottom and top profiles cut, round over's cut, initial sanding is done. After all this? The black lacquer top is going to be a BREEZE.!!!!!

Helped my neighbor take down a dead pine tree in his field that lightning got about 2 years ago.

Played bass at church again Sunday. Had a good time thumping bass on some really nice contemporary music.

Back to work today as usual and it's back to the shop tonight.

So what did YOU do this weekend?

Best of weeks to you all.

HOT, HUMID!!! That pretty much explains the weekend here. Oh yeah, and DRY.

Saturday, got in an early morning round of golf and finished by 10 AM thank goodness. Garage/shop was way to hot by then to even think about doing anything out there, so Saturday was spent in the house with the A/C.

Sunday was off to breakfast as my mom wanted to go out before her knee replacement surgery today. Went to the casino. Mom broke even while I did pretty good. Even gave some of winnings to LOML. Some friends came over for awhile. Tried to get some water on my sod and watch some NASCAR. Out to dinner and then drop mom off at the hospital for her 7 AM surgery this morning. No word yet as of 9:15 AM.

Still hot and humid up in God's ice box N. MN.
Did a little hunting up north and Creeker visit while there.

HOT and HUMID as heck here in Texas this weekend! I have no A/C but I have no time to waste. My wife is full term and my baby is due ANY day! I finished construction on the last piece of furniture for his room and started putting a finish on it. Tonight I'll spray the last coat of finish on it and be done!

Now I'll have a place to change diapers :p

Survived the heat.... until more heat comes this week, 104 called for today.

The boy had ball practice Saturday morning, then I got some time to work int he shop building drawers for the master bath vanity. That was interupted with the boy having a b-day party to attend. So we blew off time by heading to the local BBQ Store, where I promptly had to spend some cash on seasonings and other stuff. Nice grill out that evening (yeah more heat to an already hot day).... grilled up some salmon on a cedar plank..... oh get this, they want $9 for two planks 5"x8"x1/4". I grabbed a cedar picket and planed and edged it to size then cut sevral blanks all for a wopping $2... suckers. Let's see, back to the grilling... chicken tenders marinated in "Slap Ya Mama" seasoning, shrimp also marinated in the same seasoning, grilled corn on the cob, onions and finally grilled fresh pineapple with some desert marinade. To top it off a cold Budlight and chocolate shakes for desert.

Sunday, hot again, helped the boy with Lego's, then washed vehicles...there are just too many bugs in the summer, had to scrub for ever to get them little smashed boogers off my truck. Dinner out with friends and then more heat as we went to see Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony (Van Halen) at the local outdoor venue. Sweated my rear off and that's alot of rear to sweat. Dragging today though, good thing I am back at work.

Very hot here too. Friday was my 15th reunion for high school. Not a great turnout, but I did get to see some people I haven't seen in 15 years. Saturday I finished up the plumbing for the sump pump I installed last week in the shop. Luckily I had a temporary hose run as we got another major deluge on Friday afternoon. A couple inches based on what I heard. Sunday I turned a handle for a file and did a little dust collection work for the lathe but not much else.

I got my Oilver planer operational. It still needs work on part of the gear box, since I discovered a significant oil leak after I started running it, but as long as I keep putting oil in it is should ok. After that planed down wood for four oak benches, two dantesca chairs, and a wooden wheelbarrow. I also cut out & sanded the chair parts, and would have done more but my bandsaw's upper tire started to peel off and I had to glue it down again.

We spent most of the weekend in Maine at LOML's parents' summer house on Sebago Lake, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, along with LOML's sister and family. Now, I know you're thinking "Ooh, way up in Maine on a lake, that'll be nice and cool". Wrong-o; it was in the 90s and humid the entire time. Ick.

I'd written off the weekend for getting any sawdust made, but as it turned out I was able to get in the shop Sunday evening after we got back and build one of the base cabinets. Now I'm going to need to figure out where to store these things while I build the rest of them and then make the doors and drawers.

I've been kind of stressed lately, and LOML tells me I should take a day off work and play in the shop, go out and have fun, or whatever. Who am I to argue?

Got some good shop time. Basement was way more comfortable than outside or upstairs. HOT and Humid (as most have already said.)

Saturday spent some time unpacking and setting up a new toy....post and pics to follow in the next few days.

Sunday I finished some shelves for the nursery that have scrolled bottom that matches an dresser we have. So, those are ready for LOML to paint.

Now it's back to the old grindstone....I wish I was in the shop.

Hot as heck here, but I managed to get the 10x12' shed up by this morning. This allows me to move a bunch of stuff out of the garage and free up some shop space!

Is there anyplace that wasn't HOT!!!?? Upper 90s and high humidity made the shop unbearable after about 15 minutes. Installed a couple of drawers in some kitchen base cabinets. Pulled out an old holly bush (I hate holly stickers) that was right in front of an outside faucet. Tied a rope to it and pulled with the lawn tractor--can you say exploding rope?:o

Got the come-along, backed up my PU truck and jerked that sucker out of there. Sort of like hitting a tack with a sledge hammer.:D

Supposed to be real hot all week, so I might as well try to make some money instead of spending it.

No woodworking. Went to Midland, MI for re-enactment. Burned some black powder, stayed in the shade, and drand fluids. Great set of fireworks on Saturday. With temps aroung 95 we didn't wear the wool coats - just long sleeves and vests.

Got home early from work on Friday and decided to pull the camper out from its bay because the concrete pad had become so grimy with a film due to not getting much sun. Power washed the pad and also that side of the garage since it was open and then continued that trend on Saturday morning into the early to mid afternoon - powerwashing the pation concrete pad as well as sidewalks and the patio furniture and benches and quite a bit of the house that I could reach from gound level. To hot to do much else and spent the rest of the day inside the house lovin' up to the air conditioner. Oh yeah, we did hook up the new television/dvd player combo that wifey-poo won last week. Sunday, I 'bout went nuts looking for something to do that didn't involve the heat. Couldn't really find nothing that wouldn't make me sweat, so I waited around for the guys to come over to watch the days NASCAR event from New Hampshire. Of course, we did it in the air conditioning!:D

Hot from coast to coast as I understand it Dennis. So thankful for my shop AC and allows a great cool place to hang out :D

As posted in another thread, I finally finished the baby cradle that I have been working on for several weeks. Hey.... at least I beat the arrival of the grandson :)

Finally got the Shed delivered. It's actually 10 x 16 instead of 10 x 14 for the same price :) Got all the yard equipment and some of my son's toys in there and actually have room to move some equipment around in the garage now. Next is to clear off the wall where the sub panel and conduit is to be installed. That will be this weekends job.

God I hate moving :)
