This is a Black Walnut bowl I did a few weeks ago, I really loved the curl on this one. It measures 8-5/16" by 3-3/8" with a wall thickness of 1/4". I finished it with tung oil and than beale buffed.

That is one fantastic piece of wood. And I love the form. Kind of a fruit bowl for the center of a dining table. Keep up the good work.

That's an active piece o' walnut ya got there Frank. Pretty!

Didn't like the shape much until I thought about table setting centerpieces. Load it up with dried flowers or fruit and stuff and it'll be fabulous. I like it.

I'd like to thank all of you for your compliments. Now if only I can get time to do some turning, I've spent the last few weeks just cutting walnut bowl blanks, I've got about 400 so far. I've got some really awesome walnut burl that I can't wait to turn. The other problem is it's 104 degree right now and it's only supposed to get hotter for the next couple of weeks, so this weekend I'm going to install a air conditioner in my shop, than I should be able to start turning after work like I usually do.

Beautiful hunk 'o wood and you done it justice, Frank! :) At least for me, Walnut has always been kind of a challenge and I just can't imagine how much tougher it would be with a piece as "busy" as that one is! Well done! :)
