This is out of a piece of spalted poplar. 6 3/8" x 2 5/8". Since it was a very old piece of firewood, I soaked it in DNA for 24hrs, wrapped it, but only waited two weeks. No warp, no cracks.

Oh, that's just great!!! Another "first" and it looks like something I wish I could do after umpteen tries! :) Very, very nice, Chris and I do believe you can chalk up a "success" for your 1st DNA bowl. :) (Think I'll go get my other hand in a cast, just so I have an excuse to not even try matching skills with you "first-timers"! Sheeeeesh! :D

Nice job all around, Chris. Real pretty wood, and I like the form, including the lip on the bowl. I'm thinking "travel bowl". Looks like it'd keep the ice cream in the bowl even over rough terrain. :)

Great job Chris ! I like the form and the rim. Amazing what some people can do with whats normally thought of as junk wood. Great job.:)

Very nice job Chris, i love the form of this bowl.

Two weeks should be plenty of time, especially on old/dryer wood. Before I got myself a stock pile of rough outs, that is more time then I let a wet piece of wood dry.

Again, really nice looking bowl.;)
