Nope, didn't build my dream bench yet.

I did, however, buy this one from a local guy for $400. Top is 4" thick solid red oak, pretty massive.

Amazing bench for a great price...... Try and build that for twice the price.....

That pattern maker's vise you got was a whopper.:cool: I've got to settle for a clone...:o

No progress on it today. Too many "interferences" in the way.

I'm cleaning out the garage and getting rid of some stuff there. The crappy first bench for my shop (8' section of laminate countertop and five cheapo base cabinets) is getting yanked out of the shop and into the garage. All non-woodworking stuff (i.e. plumbing, electrical, etc) goes with it. The new bench will go there.

The bench was in good shape, but needs to be flattened and refinished. I'm also thinking about removing the front stretcher (or relocating it) and building a drawer cabinet underneath.
