This is a piece that was previously not hollowed but only drilled with a forstner bit. The outside is now re-shaped and it is now hollowed as much as I could. I still may consider a shorter foot.

Beautiful piece, I would agree a shorter base would be more pleasing to my eye anyway but the shape and wood are fantastic! Nice job.

Nice form!
I agree about the foot, I'm not a big fan of foot's on turnings though.
I think they look better with just enough to make them look like they are floating off the table.

Chris, that's sweet!!!! :) Wonderful form and finish. Plus, if it should end up getting displayed on a lower shelf, the taller foot may even add a bit of substance to it! I could easily see it displayed like that with maybe a couple taller HF's or vases on either side. Nice job, Chris! :) :cool:

Chris I like it too, and like the majority I would shorten the foot. However like John said displayed amidst taller items it would look very nice.
