I just got my 1500 Pro up and running and have a question. Is it normal for the collection barrel to raise up off the ground when it is empty and the DC is running?

Steven,
While I don't have an Oneida, I do have a Bill Pentz Cyclone, and I can tell you that if I partially block my 6" duct with my hand, an empty barrel jumps around quite a bit. (hops up & down).

So, my guess is yes - it'd be normal because of the negative air pressure in the cyclone/barrel until enugh chips are in it to overtake the negative air pressure puttling it up.

Nice choice, BTW. Oneida is well regarded.

Hope that helps,
-Mike

Yes, it can be quite normal for an empty fiber bin to be raised up when the system is properly sealed and running. Even my 55 gallon fiber drum will rise "a little" when my 2hp Oneida Commercial kicks in, although it's constrained by a short flex hose between it and the cone.
